About Me

My journey with Cairn Terriers began in 2023, when my best friend and mentor invited me to become a guardian home for her exceptional breeding program. What started as an opportunity quickly became a calling. I fell in love with the breed and, through her guidance, began to understand the responsibility that comes with preserving a dog that was once iconic and is now quietly approaching the vulnerable breeds list.

 

Cairn Terriers are more than just charming companions — they are a historic working breed with a purpose, personality, and character worth protecting. Preservation breeding matters because once those traits are lost, they cannot be recreated. My goal is to honor what makes a Cairn a Cairn, while thoughtfully improving structure, temperament, and health for future generations.

 

As part of that commitment, all breeding dogs in my program are AKC registered, health tested, and OFA certified in accordance with breed recommendations. These standards help ensure we are producing puppies with not only excellent temperaments and structure, but also a strong foundation for long, healthy lives.

The West Coast Pack

 

I’ll be honest — when I pictured a note-worthy dog, a Cairn Terrier wasn’t the breed that came to mind. I assumed they were too small to fit the kind of dog I envisioned. I couldn’t have been more wrong.

 

My first Cairn was Northwest Willow, and from the moment I laid eyes on her, everything changed. She was fearless, intelligent, and full of heart — the kind of dog who makes you forget her size entirely.

 

Not long after Willow, Northwest Cedar joined our home. Where Willow was bold and adventurous, Cedar was gentle, affectionate, and endlessly sweet — the kind of Cairn who wants nothing more than to be close to her people.

 

Together, Willow and Cedar showed me the depth and versatility of this breed. Their contrasting personalities became the foundation of my program and the inspiration behind producing Cairn Terriers suited for a wide range of homes — from outdoor adventurers to relaxed companions who are content watching the world go by.

 

A Commitment to Legacy

 

I believe every thoughtfully bred puppy carries a piece of the past and a responsibility to the future. My program is built on intention, education, and respect for the breed — not trends or convenience. Each pairing is carefully considered with the goal of preserving true Cairn temperament, structure, and spirit.

 

When you bring one of my puppies home, you’re not just adding a dog to your family — you’re becoming part of a legacy. One rooted in preservation, integrity, and a deep love for this remarkable breed. My hope is that every puppy leaves here not only well-prepared for life as a beloved companion, but also as a living example of what a Cairn Terrier was always meant to be.
